Shanghai Hongkou Library Overview

The new building of Hongkou Library in Shanghai commenced construction in June 2009 and was completed in November 2010. It officially opened to the public on December 28, 2010. With a total floor area of 10,700 square meters, the library is designed to accommodate a collection of over 300,000 volumes. It offers more than 500 reading seats and 512 network access points, meeting the standards of a first-class library at the municipal level.

The new library embodies a people-centered service concept, emphasizing open and accessible services. The environment is comfortable, inviting, and designed to provide a pleasant leisure experience. The aim is to enable readers to make full use of all the resources available in the new library, integrating the utilization of print and digital resources.
